Ribet Myles Marks First Anniversary

Last April specialist family law practitioners Julian Ribet, Alistair Myles and Laura Geraghty joined forces and announced the launch of Ribet Myles and a year on we are delighted to be marking our anniversary with a fantastic team around us.

Headquartered in the heart of legal London off Chancery Lane, the past year has seen the firm providing discreet, expert and highly effective legal advice and assistance to families and individuals across the UK and internationally. As a dedicated, diligent and determined team of family lawyers, we are proud to have supported clients throughout our first year with an empathetic and supportive approach - helping them to resolve family issues, find the approach to divorce and separation that is right for them and importantly giving them peace of mind.

With a track record of handling complicated family law cases working with clients from all over the world, we have seen the team at Ribet Myles grow. We’ve gained recognition from directories, awards, peers and clients, and reached some milestones together as a firm – a lot can happen in a year.

A new dawn for family law

The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 came into force on 6th April 2022. These ‘No Fault’ divorce laws are the biggest change to family law in England and Wales in the last fifty years.

Julian commented: “As we mark our first year anniversary, we see some of the biggest changes in divorce law in decades coming into effect. Family law is constantly evolving but the basic tenets of good practice remain the same: exceptional service, a detailed and precise understanding of both the law and the circumstances and challenges inherent in every individual’s situation; empathy and an understanding of each client’s wishes and requirements, along with a compassionate approach.”

“We are hoping that the new changes will enable separating couples to focus on separating in the best way possible and look to the future rather than having stale arguments about what has gone on in the past and marks a new dawn for family law.”

Growing a team of experts

Over the past year we are delighted to have welcomed new members to our growing team. Gaining a license to train the solicitors of tomorrow within our first year is a real privilege and we’re looking forward developing together as a firm.

Beginning with our founders; JulianAlistair and Laura along with an expert team of solicitor, Alison Schmidt; Legal Executive, Natasha Brown; and executive assistant Cassandra Patten we’ve since grown our team by welcoming more great people into the Ribet Myles family. We offered our first training contract just last month to Olivia Plummer and our team of expert family law solicitors grew in our first year with the fantastic additions of Consultant Solicitor, Anna Stokeld; Solicitor, Sorcha Gray; and trainee solicitor Peter Bowles.

Alistair commented “I am very pleased to say that the team is flourishing and expanding to ensure that we can provide our clients with an exemplary service. I’m delighted to have been able to welcome new members of the team, it enables us to provide the best advice we can to all our clients, helping them to resolve the situations in which they find themselves as amicably and cost effectively as possible, whilst also seeking to achieve the best possible outcome.”

Listings, Awards and Directories

Separation and divorce can be a stressful time and for many, it’s the first time they have had to experience the process. The rankings, listings and recognition we have received from peers and clients in our first year is not just a testament to our fantastic team but also can help to give clients more insight into the process, make them feel more empowered in their decision making and give them peace of mind.

The directories listings and rankings are drawn up on the basis of peer nominations, client feedback, telephone and face-to-face interviews, data supplied by firms, as well as information gathered by the respective editorial and research teams. We’re immensely proud of all of our rankings and acknowledgments which include:
